Alex Caballero is 2025 Trial Advocacy Workshop Leader
Highlights from the Family Law Section of The Florida Bar’s 2025 Trial Advocacy Workshop: Held July 23–27, 2025, at the JW Marriott Marquis in Miami, this four-day interactive program gave family law attorneys a hands-on opportunity to learn and sharpen their trial skills. Participants selected either a children’s issues case or a financial issues case and worked through a full trial from start to finish. Sessums Black Managing Partner Alex Caballero has participated in the Trial Advocacy Workshop since 2009. The Workshop is an amazing opportunity to teach trial skills to family law lawyers.

Sessums Black Firm Administrator Paul Kanjorski and the Suncoast Chapter Association of Legal Administrators recently partnered with Academy Prep Center of Tampa to host a special Etiquette Luncheon for the school’s 6th-grade students.

The students were tasked with catching Paul and other adult guests making etiquette faux pas during the meal! ALA participants helped guide conversations and demonstrated the do’s and don’ts of dressing for success—sparking both laughter and learning throughout the event.
Reflecting on the experience, Paul shared, “I was so impressed with how enthusiastic and well-prepared the students were. I think they really enjoyed the opportunity to tell the adults in the room how to behave for a change. It was one of the most exhilarating and rewarding events I’ve participated in for a very long time.”
